CROSSROADS AQUARIUM in Glendale, Newcastle, commenced trading in 1991. Our goal was and still is to provide great service, advice and products to anyone who is interested in keeping aquaria.

We specialize in freshwater tropical and cold water fish and have over 140 tanks of fish to choose from. We also have one of the largest range of new aquarium set-ups to select from. Traditional rectangular aquariums on great looking furniture cabinets or the more “modern” curved glass fronted tanks. Whatever your preference we have something for everyone’s taste.

CROSSROADS MARINE - we now offer a complete range of marine species of fish as well as corals and all the aquarium equipment to keep salt water creatures. Including marine tanks, lighting, chillers, marine fish, corals, live rock, filters, refugiums and substrates.

An interesting piece of trivia for the new aquarists is that except for the newer curved glass aquariums with built in filters and lights coming from China, we still usually refer to aquarium sizes in the imperial measurements. Of the hundreds of phone calls, we receive every week, only one in a hundred will ask for the price of a 122 cm tank. 99% of the calls want to know the price of a 4 foot tank. So, young people, try to remember

2 foot = 24 inches = 61cm,
3 foot = 36 inches= 91.5cm,
4 foot = 48 inches = 122 cm and
6 foot = 72 inches = 183cm.

Of course we don’t care, metric or imperial, it is ok with us.
